Do you think Katherine’s story is relevant to today and modern experience?

Well, girls are girls, it seems – wherever and whenever they are. For me, Katherine Howard and Cat Tilney’s complex friendship is instantly and intriguingly recognisable. Indeed, when I was first reading about Katherine Howard, my reaction was, ‘I know you – I was at school with you’, as it were … and it’s a reaction that I’ve had since from readers, too.
